Device communication failure

when tried to access power strip through web portal away from home, it's showing status as unknown and popping out communication failure message... Now I don't know wether the device is working or not... Any work around for this? Without going back to home and resetting the device.... Can you push a firmware upgrade?

Communication Failure means that your device is facing some intermittent internet connectivity problem.
